If a person drinks a coffee with milk how long must wait to eat an herb, for better absorption? And a coffee without milk? same would be the green/black tea?

How about other high tannin sources?

thank you!

Milk actually neutralizes the tannins. Therefore, if there is sufficient milk in the coffee or tea then there would not be any binding of medications, herbs or nutrients from the tannins.

Although, tannins are not the only nutrient blocking compound in coffee and tea. Oxalic acid is also an issue. Oxalic acid will also be neutralized by the calcium in milk though as the combination forms insoluble calcium oxalate.

I would give it at least 30 minutes, but the longer the better between consuming coffee or tea and taking any medications, herbs or supplements.

The amount of mil that would be used in coffee is negligible and therefore there is not enough to really cause any problems with nutrition absorption.
