RE: The role of estrogen in cancer
Menopause means the decrease and then complete blockage of the development of estrogen by the ovaries. This rapid loss of estrogen leads to several diseases in women who are suffering from menopause.

There is a drop in estrogen during menopause, but the body have various sources of estrogen production other than the ovaries. Primarily the adrenal glands, followed by the fat cells. These other sources of estrogen act as cushions to prevent a sudden and drastic drop in estrogen that can be dangerous.
