TMG and IGF-1 - Morgan5 - 04-07-2014 03:51 PM

Hi again,

I've been taking TMG for about 2 months (unfortunately funny tasting fish bait, feed grade quality powder, called just Betaine, since tablet version is extremely expensive and nearly unobtainable in my country) but recently I came across the book written by dr Campbell which decribes his well known China Study.

He says that IGF-1 is directly related to developing some kinds of cancer in our bodies. You also mentioned some studies on the subject here:

I found some articles mentioning that TMG can double the amount of IGF-1 in the human body, such as the one here:

and here:

this article also mentions that in the part explaining how it works:

What is your opinion on this James, is TMG really that safe then?

Also, if you could answer to my other topic regarding HBP I would really appreciate that.

I read in Campbell's book that blood pressure can be controlled for life with vegan diet, but it still doesn't get to the roots of the problem and I really don't want to be vegan for the rest of my life...

That's a very interesting topic.

I really would like to know James' opinion on this one.

Found some more stuff but couldn't come to any conclusion:
From one of the links I posted above:

"Because betaine is a by product from sugar refining, the giant sugar company Danisco is financing studies on positive health effects of betaine, in the hope of finding new markets."

That makes one think...
